Welcome To the Family!
Hey Family! Welcome to the official Sisters 3 Tea Blog, where tradition meets innovation and every sip tells a beautiful story!
There is so much we plan to share on this blog! We’re going to explore the benefits of tea, the importance it has in our lives and so much more!
Our family business is rooted in familial and Caribbean traditions nurtured by loving hands of generations of the past. Our business is a story of love, passion and the timeless bond between family and community. Oh! Also the vibes here are great. Can’t forget that.
So, let’s get down to business, shall we?
At the heart of our business is our grandmother, Sheila. She is the matriarch of our family, a beacon of strength and the guardian of our heritage. Born and raised in Barbados, she came to America for a brighter future. She cared for us constantly, one of those ways being through her food and her love of tea. It’s through her need to have a hot cup of tea every morning where the seeds of our family’s tea-making traditions were sown.
She instilled the habit of drinking tea in us every morning since we were young. She was so determined to get us to drink tea that she even made up “tea races” to see who could drink their tea the fastest. With every pot of tea she brewed, grandma wove a narrative of resilience, creativity, and the indomitable spirit of the Caribbean people.
It was always easy to see how much tea comforted her. It wasn’t just something she drank when she was sick, it was a standard beverage for her. It served as her “me time” to sit down, unwind, and feel at home with a warm cup of tea.
While our grandma is an avid, plain black tea lover, the love for tea trickled down generations, prompting us (Christine, Candace, Celine, Aker and William) to start our black-owned tea company with Caribbean-flavored teas! While we cherish the timeless traditions, we also embrace innovation. We believe in honoring the past while building a brighter future for generations to come. Our family still views tea as a comfort drink, and what better way to honor our familial heritage than by creating a women-led black-owned business?
By incorporating ingredients such as ginger, papaya, safflower, elderberry, hibiscus and so much more, our tea isn’t only honoring the flavors of the island we call home, but our hibiscus, green, and black tea provides so many health benefits!
Drinking tea helps boost our immune systems and tackle inflammation, high blood pressure, and heart disease. It also promotes gut health and our ability to focus. Specifically, green tea can alleviate anxiety and lower cholesterol, black tea can lower blood sugar and hibiscus is full of antioxidants! What’s not to love?
We love that you are on this journey with us as we uplift our culture, honor our grandma, elevate the tea experience, and provide a fun, healthy beverage to be enjoyed in new ways.
Until next time! Keep on sipping! 🤎 🫖 ☕️
